Red Section Sunset

acrylic on canvas
22" x 36"

Searching out a place: exploring, wandering off, not knowing what, where or if, opening to possibility, delighting in happenstance, digging up connections, courting fortune, risking failure, never knowing,  call it all painting.  Some days, in some places, in certain paintings, it all remains amorphous.  There’s no “placing” it.  Daniel Boone: “I can’t say that I was ever lost but I was a mite bewildered for three days once.”  Lost is panic, bewildered is an ease with an unknown, a curiosity and an appetite for doubt; bewildered is an accord with the unnamed.  It’s some section and it’s red with a sunset – okay, yeah.
